Malvina is a sophomore studying engineering with a concentration in design. For this project she enjoyed the challenge of building a gantry with minimal complexity while maximizing precision. There were many fun times with lasers and 3D printers, and the occasional pun about fasteners. They’re just so fastenating!
Stephanie is studying mechanical engineering at Olin and worked on the X-Y gantry. She loves making her CAD come to life! Researching and ordering parts taught her so much about belts, pulleys, stepper motors, v rails and wheels, etc. Lastly, she enjoyed trying to guess the song from the spiral art.
Lili is studying engineering with a concentration in computing at Olin. Throughout this project, Lili enjoyed working on the integration of the interface with the Spotify API and gantry movement, fulfilling her learning goals of applying coding knowledge in an integrated system. Additionally, Lili enjoyed reflecting on the project while helping put the website together.
Jiayuan is a sophomore majoring in electrical and computer engineering. For this project, she worked on electrical wiring and interfacing with GRBL. Making connections between music and visual art has always been a fascinating concept to her. She enjoyed brainstorming for new ideas and implementing them with the awesome team.
